Jessie Rodell Educational Award
will now also be in honor of Quinn Rodell.

Quinn with 50 Tulips!

A note from
Michael and Tiersa

I [Tiersa] am returning to the U.S. on 8 June. Due to upcoming holiday weekends in the Netherlands, and several key people traveling to the FAWCO awards ceremony [more on that below] we have made the decision to hold the Celebration of Life for Quinn in the fall, most likely September, when my husband and I will be back to visit.

Donations

Courtesy of Georgia Regnault:

Undoubtedly the news has reached the American, Dutch and international community of the Hague that Quinn Rodell passed away early Sunday morning, May 15, 2022 after a brave three-month fight with cancer. Coming so quickly after his mother Jessie’s passing in January 2021 makes it a very sad, incomprehensible period for Michael and Tiersa and further family and friends. At their request, please do not send flowers.

In celebration of Quinn’s life – we will all remember his “how ya doin”, big smile and happy spirit he showed to all he met - the family has asked that once again those who wish may give a donation in Quinn’s name to the Educational Arts Award that was established just before Jessie passed away. There was enough money given that this Award will be sponsored in part by the family and friends of Jessie and Quinn for at least the next four years.

This award is being administered by the FAWCO Foundation and appears on their website like this:

Arts Award  of $4000, sponsored in part by the family and friends in memory of Jessie Rodell, former President of the AWC of The Hague

For undergraduate or graduate study in the history, theory and/or practice of the performing arts, visual arts, film and media arts, architecture or graphic arts.

On May 21, 2022 the first Arts Award, established in memory of Jessie Rodell was given to an American student in Finland. If we receive more details, we will update here. See the section below on the Awards ceremony.

Additional donations to fund this award for more than 4 years to come can be made to this Foundation via their website: www.fawcofoundation.org, under “How to Donate”.

For USA donors the Zelle app may also be used, via the email address of the treasurer: treasurer@fawcofoundation.org. For more information about your donation, please contact the treasurer via this email address.
